Working at TeamValue - We chose for the combination of IT consultancy and a strong team

The DNA of our employees determines the success of TeamValue and our customers. Hendrik and Stephan take you along in their first months as new colleagues.

Stephan (Business Intelligence Consultant) and Hendrik (Cloud Solution Architect) both started their new challenge at TeamValue in coronation times. How did they experience their onboarding, why we are a different employer than they were used to, what drives them and what value do they add to us and our clients? They went into conversation with each other! Take a coffee and have a nice read.

Onboarding within the team

Stephan joined our team at the beginning of May. Hendrik was ahead of him and started two months earlier. In the middle of the 'Corona era'. What appealed to you in your job? And why did you choose TeamValue?", Hendrik asks Stephan. Stephan answers: ''I found a click with the organization mega important. You can do your job anywhere within the field of BI, but a nice team and especially the proposition to customers is important to me. That gives me confidence that great projects are coming up and that we are working on them together rather than alone, which you often see in secondment. So it's a conscious choice for me to work for a smaller organization that really does IT consultancy. I really like the personal approach! And what about you? Didn't you have a separate start in March?  

Hendrik: ''I worked in the office for exactly nine days before we all ran off with our screens under our arms to set up our workplaces at home after Rutte's speech. That took some getting used to, but it's cool to see how quickly things change. My onboarding actually started before I came on duty. I had already been to the office on a Tuesday evening to attend a 'technical evening' and had already spoken to several people from my network about TeamValue'.  

Working at Teamvalue? My work-life balance has definitely improved. I now really understand what OHANA means. We work hard, but we always work together as a team. Even if we are on a consultancy assignment with a client, we regularly have a few moments together and on Fridays we always come back to our home base in Zwolle'', says Hendrik.  

IT Consultancy from our DNA

Recently, the men - and all the other colleagues - have been busy obtaining certifications. Yes, for some assignments in our field it is important to have the right certifications, but nowadays it's more and more about really bringing out the question behind the question as a consultant'', says Hendrik. Curiosity, the desire to continue learning and showing a bit of courage? That simply has to be in your DNA," Stephan adds.  

At TeamValue we work on the basis of the Golden Path. The Golden Path is our answer for implementing BizDevOps in the right way. We like challenges and deliver what we promise. We bring business and IT closer together and ultimately ensure that 'One Button Deploy' becomes possible. We always keep our principles in mind when implementing a new architecture'', says Hendrik. For Stephan, the difference also lies in being a real sparring partner for clients. Where are their needs? Can I really become part of their team? Because yes, we can take care of a 'Move to the Cloud' trajectory for you, teach your team how to migrate to Azure DevOps and build a strategic report for you in PowerBI, but our work is only really successful if the team at the client also knows how they can do it all themselves! That is IT consultancy from our DNA.

How we deliver value to organisations  

What value do you bring to our team? It was one of the three questions I had to answer when I sent in my application via the website'', Stephan laughs. Thinking about what areas you match with the organization, watching the videos of team members and getting some information from your network about how TeamValue is positioned in the market. That helped to form an overall picture of the organization. I understand that. Only then do you know whether you are hiring people who have the same values as you and therefore believe in, for example, the principles of The Golden Path, to make sure we can also convey that to our customers'.  

Three times left is also right', Hendrik adds. It is sometimes just a different way of thinking. We stand for 'Digital Business, Human Results', because those two always need each other to be successful. We work with people in a world that revolves around technology. Companies often 'sit' on more data than they think and they want insight in patterns to be able to steer on this in the future. As Xander so eloquently puts it: driving forward by looking in the rear-view mirror. We know how to connect the themes of Business Transformations, Business Intelligence and Business Critical Applications so that the IT landscape starts working for you.

Stephan: ''My experience is mainly in the field of Business Intelligence and The Modern Workplace. Together with colleague Xander we are looking at how to bring the team of KPMG and Humanitas to the next level of maturity in Business Intelligence''.
