Back to the 80's! - Recap Azure & AI Lowlands

June 27 was the day: the Azure & AI Lowlands event! With the entire Cloud team we traveled to this event, completely in '80s style. Think neon colors, retro games, iconic 80s vehicles and of course a lot of tech talks on Azure and AI.

Business critical applications

The event was a perfect blend of nostalgia and technology. We started the day with a keynote on the biggest -and admittedly often hilarious- blunders in IT of the past few decades. Then we dove into several sessions, from machine learning to serverless computing to generated AI to building your own Copilot.

One of the highlights for us was the session on GitHubautomation. This session confirmed that we have been on the right track for years with our Golden Path proposition, of which automation ('One Button Deploy') is an essential part, but also that our Golden Path is perfectly applicable when using GitHub. Another highlight was the 'under the hood' session on large language models and ChatGPT. Cool to get an inside look at the inner workings of ChatGPT and see what the engine under many GPT-related models looks like!

Of course, we also couldn't stay away from the retro vehicles of the A-team, Knightrider and, of course, Ghostbusters! Because: who are you gonnacall? TeamValue!

Azure & AI Lowlands was a cool experience! We not only learned a lot, but also took tremendous advantage of the opportunity to have a lot of fun as a Cloud team.
