Jubilee time! Hendirk has been with our club for two years now. He takes you through his highlights and ambitions.

Hendrik is a professional idiot, has thought everything out in advance, keeps a good overview and is a great person to laugh with. That is what colleagues say about him. He has now been with TeamValue for two years and we look back with him. Hendrik wouldn't be Hendrik if he didn't also look ahead to the future for himself and the team, so grab that coffee!

Active as Azure Consultant at RDW, Qualogy and Air Miles

As a Consultant, you wear two 'hats' at the customer. And at TeamValue I am also wearing two 'hats'. How does that work exactly? Let me explain! I chose to work for a scale-up because I want to contribute to the organisation, its policy, its development and the translation to technology. Assignments without a challenge are, by definition, less interesting. There really must be an issue, results to be achieved and contributions to business-critical cloud applications.  

For example, together with Qualogy, I was allowed to bring together the worlds of Java and Microsoft Azure. How do these technology stacks work together? Read about it here. I have worked at RDW before. Anton and Joost-Jan are also acquaintances, so my 'return' to this client went smoothly. We were asked back there and scaled up from expertise. That is what you want as an Azure Consultant. At Air Miles, I am involved in a number of assessments that we carry out in the field of security monitoring and I look at the architecture. Every time we release to production it is a celebration! And then to hear that what you have created together is still being developed further and that your principles are still being applied is enormously satisfying.  

Professional and personal development  

For 20 years I have been active in the world of technology, but only in the last two years have I been able to develop myself even more on a personal level. A valuable combination if you look at what you can mean for TeamValue and its customers. I really see the strong power of hard skills, soft skills and certifications. This way we develop in depth and in width. During those two years at TeamValue, I also became really aware of how you behave as a person in a certain situation and as a team. We give each other feedback, hold up a mirror to each other with respect when necessary and have fun together.  

In corona time, I started to think hard about my certifications. I wanted more than just technical growth. I was looking for an architecture framework and that became TOGAF. This gave me a deep dive into mission descriptions, statements of work, analysis, stakeholder management, governance and communications. In the past, the greatest frustration was always to bring technical solutions to the business in an understandable way. The TOGAF certification was high on my list. And with a backpack full of tools further on, I was set to thinking again. What is next? Perhaps the CISM (security certification). Who knows, I might even grow into a role as an Enterprise Architect IT.

Teamlead - in addition to delivering Value, you also help build the Team

I get a lot of energy from supervising trainees. I think it's great to see how they develop, with what questions and new insights they come up with and that up to now almost all our interns have received a 10 for their internship assignment! This also applies to Maud & Joe. As Teamlead, Hendrik knows better than anyone how important it is to grow with colleagues who have the same mindset. That is also the reason why he himself has played an important role in the past in bringing in colleagues Jaap and Matthijs.

The most important thing, in my opinion, is that you stand beside and in the team and not above it. With technical baggage, guidance and life experience (both business and private), you really take people a step further. From the relationship and from the person.
