Our team members

Last month, all three of them started! Our toppers within the circles Cloud and BI. They take you through their first weeks, their internship assignment, what they are already not going to forget about TeamValue's culture, why Full Stack Development and Data Science interests them so much and they give you some tips if you are going to intern soon yourself!

TeamValue - One team, one task

Two internship assignments, one product and one team with a common goal. That's the short summary. What exactly Nando, Joeghanoe (we can say Joe) and Aman do they explain.

They are working on our solution TeamNow. The ultimate management game to improve team performance. A world where Azure DevOps and Agile working come together in a safe and fun way.

The men unanimously agree: ''an internship assignment is not just another assignment for training. We really want to deliver value for the organization, its customers and end users'. That's why they love working on their own product. 'We don't work for sauce. All three want to grow, both professionally and personally.

''In the first weeks we already noticed that TeamValue is a different kind of organization than we were used to. There is a high collegiality, there is a nice working atmosphere, goals are achieved but with a good dose of fun and competitiveness. Will we make the sprint or not? If we do, we get cake. And so it happened! It is nice to see that owner Anton and the rest of the team believes in us.

Development of a Self Service Portal

Aman and Joe will work on developing a Self Service Portal for the game TeamNow. Think of it as a gateway to the game. This platform will allow customers and TeamValue's Agile Coaches to easily maintain their projects and see at a glance where their attention and priority should go first. Without getting too deep into the content, because we'd rather present that when it's finished, we'll get to work on Azure DevOps.

The app will interact with a number of microservices that perform their own functions. Also, the goal of the project is to implement everything so doing with a one-click deployment, this means that from the moment something new comes in it will be automatically deployed within all app services. All this following the Golden Path methodology. Typical languages: React, Azure Cloud, Javascript, .Net Core (C# - API), B2C, Azure Storage/CosmosDB, YAML, JSON and XML.

Dashboarding with Azure Machine Learning

Nando gets to work with data and AI. With a data model and dashboarding, he will soon be able to make predictions based on Azure DevOps and the behavior of team members. Will a team make the sprint or not? Where does that lie? How can we act on this now? These are all questions that concern both business and IT.

In TeamNow, the speed, output and quality of teams can currently be monitored through a game and associated reports. In order to keep the process running smoothly, keep teams motivated and achieve goals, it is crucial to intervene in time in situations that could be a roadblock. Now it's up to me to use machine learning to make predictions based on the teams' data in order to detect situations like those described earlier beforehand. I will also be experimenting a lot with Azure machine learning products to eventually hopefully add a very fat extension to TeamNow.

Two "separate" internship assignments cannot exist without each other. The men work together, with each other and with the Senior Developers from the team. It's also fun for them as buddies to perhaps coach our future colleagues.

Software Engineering and Data Science in Practice

''We came in contact with TeamValue through a lecturer from our course,'' say our interns. The challenge for Full Stack Development appealed to us mega, say Joe and Aman. For example, we are involved in design, development (front- & backend) and we also get to go on customer visits. Talking about the hard and soft side of IT, we get to touch both. It makes you understand processes better and keeps your work varied.

We are incredibly excited to learn more of the development principles and find out how The Golden Path works for us as a Developer and for customers. Here we work with modern techniques, best practices and seriously smart techies. That bodes well for the future!

Safety & guts

Security. In everything we build, we have to take that into account. But what about security in the team? ''At TeamValue, security and guts go hand in hand,'' that's what we were told during our first conversation with Hendrik and Xander. We had to think about it for a while, but after a month we understand exactly what is meant here. We are part of the team, asking questions, helping each other and running the full business. Nando: ''if I may give you a tip when looking for an internship: be yourself, find an organization that suits you well in terms of culture and develop your rot!'' Aman adds: ''normally you come for an interview and go into a 'cubicle'. At TeamValue I was introduced to colleagues, they showed me what they were working on and asked me what exactly I wanted. Really a relief when an internship interview is a bit tense''. Joe: "I was told that development is a must here. That is for yourself and for the organization. Everyone is also involved in growth. Our tip to close with? Be open to everything, communicate what you want and stay curious!

At TeamValue we have the ''Who you gonna call'' meetings where we take each other through how things are going at work and at home. The question is who do we call to take over our baton in February? See more on (Graduate) internship Cloud Development (teamvalue.com)
