Jaap & Matthijs about the move to TeamValue

Together with Nando, Joe and Aman, they started in early September. Jaap as Azure Solution Developer and Matthijs as Support Engineer. Why did they switch to TeamValue and how did they like their first months? We didn't have to ask or they already had their answers ready!

Meet Azure Developer Jaap & Support Engineer Matthijs  

''Quitting the security of your current job and entering a new job in which you are challenged every day.... Yes, that's quite something!'' says Matthijs. Jaap agrees and adds that it certainly is, but that he hasn't regretted it to this day. Matthijs: ''Safe, but boring. I don't feel anything for that. Safety combined with guts and fun, I feel a lot for that''.  

For Jaap, working within consultancy is important. No two days and assignments are the same, you learn a lot and there is less risk of getting bored with the solution, the technology and the team because they also alternate. The fact that after having worked as a Fullstack Developer for a long time and having programmed in C#, among other languages, he is now really moving to another level of development is also very satisfying. Jaap: ''In a few years I will be able to call myself Azure Specialist and I really get the space to work hard on that here. In the coming months I will obtain the Scrum certification, the AZ-900 and the AZ-204. There will be no lack of development and exams in the near future.  

  • Jaap works on mission-critical applications within our circle Cloud.
  • Matthijs works on Modern Service Management and dynamic management at Bizure, a revolutionary solution from TeamValue.  

The power of the network

Both men will be biting their heads off in this particular field in the near future, as Matthijs is also working on the AZ-104. ''Actually, it's a stroke of luck. In the past, there was either not the need or not the decisiveness to move to Azure, when in my opinion it would have been the right choice. When Hendrik asked me if I wanted to come over for coffee, he first had to persuade me with a kind of 'Azure talk show' in which we sparred together about the possibilities within support and management. I also talked to Maria, whom I also knew through a former employer. And then I was sold," Matthijs said. Call it coincidence or not, Jaap also joined the club through Hendrik.  

''We're not just doing development here, we're doing integrations, we're setting up an OTAP street and making sure the business can release at the push of a button. I set up more myself, work as part of a team, and really different thinking is expected within a certain level of complexity. That keeps us on our toes,'' says Jaap.  

TeamValue - personal, informal and open culture  

During the team day - which we wrote a blog about earlier - we really got to experience the atmosphere. ''The personal, open culture I experienced in the job interviews was confirmed,'' says Matthijs. The addition of Jaap? Simple he says: TeamValue is a close-knit and family-oriented team that has great clients and does cool projects with incredibly interesting techniques!  

What else do the men appreciate about our culture? The buddy system. Everyone who starts has a point of contact for questions and there is solicited and unsolicited feedback to each other. Matthijs: ''The opportunities to learn and especially to solve problems and provide service gives me great satisfaction. The drive behind The Golden Path and to automate everything may have taken a while for me to get used to, but I quickly saw the value of that''.

A job interview? I wouldn't necessarily call it that....

Our team makes the difference - we've known that for longer than today. Our colleagues also play an important role in our recruitment process. They themselves choose whom they want to work with. Jaap and Matthijs never experienced it as a "real job interview. Before they knew it, they were part of our team. And we are somewhat happy about that!
